Cycladic style figurine, which is the type that is known to archaeologists as a "FAF" for "folded-arm figure(ine)", which means the small model. The figurine renders in an abstract or specific way the form of a human, animal, plant or object, from various materials. The figurines are the first example of art of ancient Greek culture. They were found on the islands of the Cyclades and were made about 5,000 years ago, from white marble, a material that was abundant on the islands. Most of the figurines were found in tombs and some in houses, sanctuaries and settlements, it has mostly been claimed to depict the deity of Fertility. The oldest Cycladic figurine was found in Saliago, an island between Paros and Antiparos.
